Teen Oklahoma Drivers License
If you’re wondering how to get your first time drivers license in Oklahoma, we’re here to help. The state requires you to complete a drivers ed course before you can take your drivers permit test. We have designed a course that is entirely online, so you can have fun fulfilling your requirements and work on it whenever it is convenient for you.
Types of Licenses in Oklahoma
There are 4 types of drivers licenses in the state of Oklahoma: A, B, C, and D. As a teen, the first-time drivers license you will be applying for is a Class D Oklahoma drivers license. This type of license allows you to drive an automobile or passenger truck.
For teens under the age of 18, they will be earning what’s called a graduated Oklahoma drivers license. This means that once a teen driver earns their Class D license, they will be required to follow certain restrictions for one year.
Age Requirements
If you’re 15 1/2 years of age, you can start down the licensing path by obtaining an Oklahoma drivers license permit. This requires the completion of a drivers education course, passing your permit test, and holding on to your learner’s permit for 6 months.
All first-time drivers under the age of 18 are required to pass the Oklahoma permit exam and hold their drivers permit for a minimum of 6 months before they are eligible to take the driver’s license test.
