Getting your driving needs taken care of Texas can be a bit tricky. In many states, the DMV handles just about every driving-related requirement, from getting your license to registering your car. In Texas, the Department of Public Safety (DPS) does some of the work. Find Your Local Texas DPS Office

All Texas drivers licenses – including learners permits, commercial licenses and motorcycle licenses – are handled directly by the Texas DPS. Texas Vehicle Registration – Texas DMV and Local County Tax Offices

The Texas DPS office doesn’t take care of vehicle registration. That’s done via the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles, in conjunction with the state tax department; county collection offices handle all related payments.
