How it Works – Wisconsin Failure to Yield Course

If you’ve been convicted of a Failure To Yield violation, the state of Wisconsin offers drivers the opportunity to fulfill your Failure To Yield traffic school by taking our online traffic school. Here are the steps you’ll need to take:

How to Meet a Wisconsin Failure to Yield DMV Requirement

  1. Receive notice from the DMV requiring you to take a Failure To Yield / Right Of Way course.
If you’ve been convicted of a Failure To Yield traffic violation, the Wisconsin DMV will send you a notice requiring you to complete an approved Failure To Yield / Right Of Way course. You’ll have a deadline to complete the course; the notice will also include a link to course registrations. You can sign up for I Drive Safely’s online Failure To Yield course from there, or you can do so at this website.Ask your court if you can dismiss your ticket, or prevent the points associated with your violation from appearing on your driving record.
  2. Enroll in and complete the I Drive Safely Failure To Yield – Right of Way traffic school course.
Our course is self-paced and only two hours long, but you should be sure to give yourself enough time to finish it before your court-mandated deadline.
  3. I Drive Safely will submit your certificate of completion.
I Drive Safely will electronically send the DMV your certificate of completion once you finish your course. We’ll also be able to provide you with a proof of completion form for your own records, in case you ever need it.
  4. Check your driving record to make sure you’ve received credit.
It’s a good idea to follow up with the DMV to be sure that you’ve received credit for the Failure To Yield course. If it’s not on your record, the violation will be still be flagged as outstanding – and that may lead to additional fines and higher insurance rates.
