This\u00a0week, many of us will be heading over the river and through the woods to Grandmother’s house…via freeways that’ll no doubt be packed with thousands of other drivers, all doing the same thing. Ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, the National\u00a0Safety Council<\/a> has issued a chilling prediction. In a recent press release, the organization estimates that 433 people will be killed and as many as 52,000 will be injured in auto crashes\u00a0from Wednesday, November 25th through Sunday, November 29th. These numbers<\/a> are based on formulas that the organization has used for years, combining previous years’ totals with computer models and predictions.\u00a0<\/p>\n While we don’t know just how accurate the National Safety Council’s predictions will be, we do know that holiday periods are a particularly dangerous time to be on the roads. November brings additional challenges – namely, those presented by Nature itself.
