{"id":24638,"date":"2012-01-30T09:53:57","date_gmt":"2012-01-30T09:53:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.idrivesafely.com\/?p=24638"},"modified":"2018-08-08T10:41:11","modified_gmt":"2018-08-08T10:41:11","slug":"be-a-champion-host-this-super-bowl-sunday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.idrivesafely.com\/blog\/be-a-champion-host-this-super-bowl-sunday\/","title":{"rendered":"Be a Champion Host this Super Bowl Sunday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-33303 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.idrivesafely.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/GettyImages-856927566.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"724\" height=\"483\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There are often a lot of records set on Super Bowl Sunday.\u00a0 For instance, it\u2019s the second-largest day in the U.S. for food consumption (after Thanksgiving), the most-watched American television broadcast of the year and the most watched sporting event in the world.\u00a0\u00a0 But it is also one of the deadliest times to be on the road, second only to New Year\u2019s Day, for drunk driving fatalities.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.madd.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">MADD<\/a><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>wants everyone to enjoy the<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/msn.foxsports.com\/nfl\/story\/Super-Bowl-preview-New-York-Giants-New-England-Patriots-Tom-Brady-Eli-Manning-012212\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">big game<\/a><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>on February 5, but more importantly, we want everyone to get home from the celebration safely.<\/p>\n<p>If you are hosting a Super Bowl party this year, you should know that part of showing guests a great time is making sure they get home safely. \u00a0Use these tips to help throw a party that sails into the end zone:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Plan activities.<\/strong><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>Planned activities like party games, door prize drawings or amateur fortune-telling engage people, make for less active consumption of alcohol and ensure that your friends remember the great event long after the last touchdown was thrown.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Avoid mixers.<\/strong><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>Mixers won\u2019t help dilute alcohol. Carbonated mixers like club soda or tonic water cause alcohol to be absorbed into a person\u2019s system more quickly.
