We\u2019ve put together this list to help you along the way. If you would like to print or save a copy of this list, there is a link to a PDF version at the bottom of this page.<\/p>\n<h2>STEP 1:\u00a0Make Sure Your Parents or Guardian Is Registered<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Download the <a title=\"Oklahoma Drivers Education\" href=\"http:\/\/www.idrivesafely.com\/drivers-ed\/oklahoma\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Oklahoma Parent-Taught Affidavit<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Mail the completed form to the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety along with a self-addressed stamped envelope to:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>Oklahoma DPS \u2013 Driver License Examining<br \/>\n 3600 Martin Luther King<br \/>\n PO Box 11415<br \/>\n Oklahoma City, OK 73136 <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Parent-Taught Driver Education Packet from the Oklahoma DPS will arrive within 2-3 weeks notifying you hat your Parent\/Guardian has been approved once you receive your packet<\/li>\n<li>Fill out the I DRIVE SAFELY Oklahoma Parent-Taught Drivers Education Application<\/li>\n<li>Send us the Affidavit of Approval along with the I DRIVE SAFELY Oklahoma Parent-Taught Driver\u2019s Education Application via fax, email, or US Postal Service<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>Fax Number: (760) 692-3226<br \/>\n Email Address: helpdesk@idrivesafely.com<br \/>\n Postal Address: 5770 Armada Drive, Suite 200, Carlsbad, CA 92008<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A verification email will be sent to you confirming approval<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>STEP 2: Start Your <a title=\"Oklahoma Drivers Education\" href=\"http:\/\/www.idrivesafely.com\/drivers-ed\/oklahoma\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Oklahoma Teen I Drive Safely<\/a>\u00a0Course Now<\/h2>\n<p>Once you are enrolled in the course, you may obtain your learner\u2019s permit from the DPS. Bring the following documents to the DPS office to take your written permit exam:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 forms of identification<\/li>\n<li>Social Security card<\/li>\n<li>School letter\/proof of enrollment<\/li>\n<li>Certificate of Enrollment for your Parent-Taught Driver\u2019s Ed course<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>STEP 3:\u00a0Successfully Pass Your Oklahoma Permit Exam and Vision Test, and Receive Your Drivers Permit<\/h2>\n<h2>Step 4:\u00a0Now Continue Your Parent-Taught Drivers Ed Course and Start Your Instruction Behind the Wheel<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Fill out training logs provided in the DPS Parent-Taught Education Packet as you complete your behind-the-wheel training. The logs document the amount of time the student spends in training. NOTE: you must complete 55 hours of documented behind-the-wheel training<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>STEP 5: Complete Your I Drive Safely Course<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Once you successfully complete the course, you will automatically receive your Certificate of Completion<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>STEP 6: Report to the DPS for Your Driver Exam<\/h2>\n<p>Here\u2019s what you\u2019ll need to bring:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Learner\u2019s permit<\/li>\n<li>I DRIVE SAFELY Certificate of Completion<\/li>\n<li>Behind-the-wheel instruction logs<\/li>\n<li>2 forms of identification<\/li>\n<li>Social Security card<\/li>\n<li>School letter\/proof of enrollment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>*This list is updated as of October 17, 2012.
