POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
1. What is a defensive driving or traffic school course? Defensive driving and traffic school courses are educational programs that refresh you on the basic driving skills and rules that each driver must adhere to for their state, as well as teach you new defensive driving and hazard prevention techniques to keep you safe. These courses may be ordered by the court or the state for drivers who have committed traffic violations, and they may also be taken voluntarily for to clear up tickets and points if permissible by the state. 2. Can I dismiss my ticket or earn a point reduction? Depending upon your state's regulations, you may be able to utilize our courses for ticket dismissal, point reduction, a point credit, or even an insurance discount. Find your state and learn the details that pertain to your specific circumstances. If your state isn't explicitly approved for ticket dismissal or point reduction, you may still be able to obtain individual permission from your court. 3. Can I take this course on my smartphone? Our Streaming Video courses are currently iPad compatible, and we are working to make them compatible with the Android platform soon. Our text-based courses use Flash videos, and therefore are not mobile-compatible at this time. 4. I'm not sure if I'm eligible to take this course. How do I find out? States have different regulatory agencies that approve the course. These regulatory agencies have different rules on how often you can take driving education courses and the purpose of the courses can vary from state to state or court to court (insurance reduction, point reduction, etc.). When you register for this course, this site will tell you whether the course is approved in your state or court. However, you should ALWAYS verify with your state or court before completing a driving safety course. Just be sure to take care of it BEFORE your assigned court date or due date. 5. How long will it take me to complete this course? Though course lengths vary from state to state, typical courses are usually 4-6 hours in length. You can start and stop the course as much as you would like to. 6. Is there a time limit to complete this course? You must complete the course within 180 days of registration. Any student who has not successfully completed the course within 180 days will be terminated without notice and will not be eligible for a refund. NEW YORK DRIVERS PLEASE NOTE: NY state DMV requires you complete your course within 30 days of registration. Therefore, no refunds may be given to New York drivers 30 days after they've registered for our course. 7. How do you select the questions that I will be asked on a quiz? Quiz questions are pulled randomly from a pool of questions developed for your specific course. Two people may get different questions because they are randomly selected. It's the luck of the draw! 8. How long is the final exam? The length of the final exam may vary and is determined by the state and county that issued your violation. The typical final is 25 questions, but could be longer depending on your state's requirements. 9. What will happen if I fail the final exam? Depending on your state or court's regulations, you may have the opportunity to retake the final exam if you fail. The regulatory agency in your state mandates how many attempts you will have to take the final exam. 10. How do I download Adobe Flash to run the videos throughout my course? 1.Visit Adobe's Flash installer page at http://get2.adobe.com/flashplayer/. Yes. An encrypted SSL connection requires all information sent between a client and a server to be encrypted by the sending software and decrypted by the receiving software, thus providing a high degree of confidentiality. Confidentiality is important for both parties to any private transaction. In addition, all data sent over an encrypted SSL connection is protected with a mechanism for detecting tampering--that is, for automatically determining whether the data has been altered in transit. 12. The pages on your site are not loading. What should I do? If the pages for our site are not loading completely, you may want to disconnect your internet connection and log back in. This type of problem is typically caused by your Internet Service Provider or ISP and web traffic. If you continue to experience problems, we recommend disconnecting and returning at a later time to complete the course when internet traffic is not as heavy. If you are still having problems, you may call customer support at 1-800-723-1955. 13. Do I need any special software to take this course? You do not need any special software to use our course. All you need is a web browser and a connection to the internet. We support Internet Explorer 4.0 and higher, Netscape Navigator 6.0, AOL 4.0 and higher and most other browsers. There is no software to download and nothing saved to your hard drive. Some courses use the Macromedia Flash plug-in. This product is free and can be downloaded and installed at registration. 14. Simply log in using your driver's license and password and we automatically keep track of the course work completed, so the next time you log in, you can pick up where you left off. 15. I forgot my password. How can I find out what it is? If you provided a valid email address upon registering for the course, click here to go to our password retrieval form. We will email your login name (drivers license number) and password to the email address associated with your account. What do I do? If you're unable to view a hyperlink or video while taking your course, you can fix the problem by reinstalling your Adobe Flash player. You should then be able to continue in the course. 17.The timer on the bottom right-hand corner of my course has stopped. What do I do?
