 Colorado Driver Improvement Course

Course Curriculum

What should you expect?

The Colorado Driver Improvement course contains text, videos, and animations aimed at helping you become a better driver in a way that's interesting and interactive. You'll learn traditional driving safety information, but also Colorado-specific rules and regulations like state speed limits and DUI/DWI laws. The course will take you about 8 hours to complete and contains 12 chapters, each outlining a different aspect of driving safety:
  • Introduction
  • Highway safety
  • The driver
  • Alcohol and drug impaired driving
  • Other driving impairments
  • Traffic laws
  • The driving environment
  • Driving emergencies
  • The vehicle
Throughout the course, you will take short multiple-choice quizzes. You must pass each quiz with a score of 100 percent in order to proceed to the next chapter. You will be provided with feedback on any incorrect responses and be given the chance to answer again. The quizzes do not affect your final exam score.

You also must also take and pass a 25-question final exam upon completion of the course. You must score 70 percent or higher on the final exam before your Certificate of Completion will be processed and mailed to you.
